Working draft. This describes what Hubber collects and why, as the platform
works today. It will be revised as we grow, and has not been reviewed by a lawyer.
Questions:
info@hubber.com.ng.
1. What we collect
-
Account details — name, phone number, email, role, and the password hash
(never the password itself).
-
Supplier verification — business name, registration and tax documents,
and identity documents submitted for KYC.
-
Bank details — account number, bank, and account name, used to pay out
earnings.
-
Orders and delivery — items, prices, delivery addresses, and recipient
contact details needed by the courier.
-
Device information — a device identifier, type, and OS, so sessions can
be listed and revoked per device.
-
Technical logs — IP address, request timestamps, and error traces,
retained for security and debugging.
We do not store card numbers. Payments are handled by our payment providers, who
receive card details directly.
2. Why we use it
- To operate your account and authenticate you.
- To place, fulfil, track and settle orders, including holding funds in escrow.
- To verify suppliers, as required for a marketplace handling other people's money.
- To detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
-
To send transactional messages — order updates, delivery, payouts, security alerts.
Marketing messages, if any, respect your notification preferences.
- To meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations.
3. Who we share it with
Only what each party needs to do its job:
- Payment providers — to take payment and pay out earnings.
- Courier partners — recipient name, address and phone, to deliver.
-
Suppliers — the items they must fulfil and the delivery details for them.
Suppliers are not shown the reseller's selling price or margin.
-
Communication and infrastructure providers — email, SMS, push, media
hosting and servers.
- Authorities — where we are legally required to.
We do not sell personal data.
4. Where it is stored
Data is held on managed cloud infrastructure and may be processed outside Nigeria by the
providers listed above. Access is restricted to those who need it.
5. How long we keep it
Account and transaction records are kept while your account is open and afterwards for as
long as needed for tax, accounting, dispute and regulatory purposes. Technical logs are kept
for a short operational period. Verification documents are kept while your supplier account
is active.
6. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act you may ask us to access, correct, or delete your
personal data, or to restrict how we use it. Some data must be retained to meet legal
obligations or to complete a transaction already in progress. Write to
info@hubber.com.ng and we will respond.
7. Security
Passwords are hashed. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Sessions are bound to a device and
can be revoked individually; deactivating an account ends its sessions immediately. No
system is perfectly secure — tell us at once if you suspect a problem.
8. Children
Hubber is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top changes when we do, and material changes will
be announced in the app or portal.
