How it works here

Dropshipping in Nigeria, without the two things that usually break it.

Most of what is written about dropshipping assumes a supplier on another continent and a buyer who will wait a month. Neither assumption survives contact with a customer in Lagos.

The suppliers are here, so the wait is not the problem

Classic dropshipping means an order crosses an ocean before it reaches your customer, and you spend the intervening weeks managing their patience. The suppliers on Hubber are Nigerian businesses holding Nigerian stock, and the parcel is moved by a local courier.

That single fact changes what you can sell. Items people expect this week become sellable, and the conversation after the sale stops being about tracking numbers that have not moved in nine days.

The part that usually goes wrong

The second failure is money. A reseller pays a supplier upfront on trust, the parcel does not arrive or does not match, and there is nobody standing between the two of them. It is also why so many suppliers refuse to ship before payment clears — they have been on the other side of it.

Paying on delivery is what removes that standoff. The buyer's payment is confirmed up front and released only once they confirm the parcel arrived. The supplier ships knowing the money exists; the buyer pays knowing it has not vanished. If something goes wrong, delivery is tracked with the courier and a complaint can be raised from the app for support to resolve against that record.

Delivery is quoted, not guessed

Shipping is where a dropshipping margin quietly disappears. Quote it by feel and either you absorb the difference or your customer is surprised at the door.

Delivery is quoted live from courier partners at checkout and added to the order, so the real figure is visible before anyone commits and you decide deliberately whether to absorb it or pass it on. The parcel is then trackable rather than a matter of faith.

What it costs to run

Joining costs nothing. The charge is 5% of the order as a service fee, never below ₦500 and never above ₦5,000, taken per order rather than as a subscription — so a quiet month costs you nothing.

There is no inventory to finance, no storage to rent, and no software seat to keep paying for between sales.
